Post Jam Update!
Hello people who keep playing this despite it being a jam game:
I have added features in the Windows version that has been highly requested! (And I may update everything into the web version soon)
There is now saving! That took a minute. It saves everything from:
- Your inventory
- Your placed items in your home and the farm
- Your money
- Your current tasks
It unfortunately does not save:
- Your current position
That's not a huge deal in my opinion, I may add it but it is a feature way down my priority list.
Tasks you accept now have specific details shown in the task list. A lot of you really enjoyed doing the specific tasks for people, so now you can remember what they wanted!
All of your paintings in this version are saved locally. If you go to %appdata%\Godot\app_userdata\paint in your windows explorer it should be there! Your save data is also there, be careful, you can easily break the game if you edit your save. If you get into that state and want to recover, try to contact me, I might be able to fix your data but be careful with save editing.
You can maximize the screen. Before, I was just stretching the viewport and it upscaled very ugly like. Now it scales properly and I figured out how to properly capture the scaled up paintings. Be aware, if you maximize the window and make a painting it will likely overflow the screen because that bit doesn't check how big the original image was. (But you can still view them in the path listed above to see them in the original glory)
Bug fixes:
- That bug where the red selection box pops up sometimes when you don't want it to.
- The Place Furniture button wouldn't appear when you go from painting to your house
- Clicking on paintings when placing furniture no longer selects paintings
- Some weird state bugs fixed between inventory/item placement/turn in, more stable
Known bugs:
- Can't view larger images
- Game crashes when you open your bag with more than 28 items
- Character assets aren't the best looking upscaled, there's some hard aliasing. Background and text driven UI elements look great, though due to how much larger those are.
Planned features:
- Add buyable colors for more drawing
- Inventory can contain more than 28 items (and is scrollable)
- More shop items
- More quests
- Moving/removing items
- Maybe another zone
- Maybe save-able position movement
